Throughout the history of Hollywood Road, it has always been a gathering of eastern and western art. On August 17 this year, six nearby Hollywood Road Galleries will hold the first Joint Opening of the Hollywood Road Galleries from 5 pm to 7 pm to bring together the creative power.

Throughout the history of Hollywood Road, it has always been a gathering of eastern and western art. On August 17 this year, six nearby Hollywood Road Galleries will hold the first Joint Opening of the Hollywood Road Galleries from 5 pm to 7 pm to bring together the creative power and artistic energy of various art spaces to inject into the summer. Participating galleries include: A2Z ART GALLERY Contemporary Art Gallery, Blue Lotus Gallery, Contemporary by Angela Li, Karin Weber Gallery, La Galerie Paris 1839 and aConcept Gallery.

The Joint Opening of the Hollywood Road Galleries hopes to boost the atmosphere of art and to become a tradition held in every even month. We encourage guests to explore the diversity of art in a friendly environment. Whether you are an experienced collector or a fresh art lover, you can share contemporary art in a warm atmosphere. Each gallery will hold an opening reception in the evening, and be ready to meet new friends. Guests registered as “Friends of Hollywood Road Galleries” will receive a free copy of Gallery Guide 2019 published by Art Map (HK$80).

About La Galerie Paris 1839 (G/F, 74 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong)

Located at 74 Hollywood Road in Central, La Galerie Paris 1839 is one of Hong Kong’s first art spaces specializing in high-standard art photography and prints. Established in 2019, A Concept Art Consultancy dedicates to discover Taiwanese and Hong Kong artists at their prime. Serving as a physical platform to present and execute various cultural projects, a Concept acts as the cultural explorer between different locations.

About A2Z Art Gallery Hong Kong (41 Gough Street, Central)

Located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prs, A2Z Art Gallery was founded in 2009 and specialises in contemporary art, presenting a selection of international artists. The A2Z Art Gallery Hong Kong was established in 2016, exposing a selection of international artists and young talents from the Asian contemporary art scene.

With their unique vision, Anthony and Ziwei Phuong aim to develop exchanges between China and France via their new Hong Kong gallery space, which serves as a bridge to connect the two continents, lighting the path of the new contemporary Asian art scene.

About Blue Lotus Gallery (G/F 28 Pound Lane, Sheung Wan Hong Kong)

Blue Lotus Gallery, established in 2007, is a photography gallery with a strong focus on exploring Hong Kong culture and identity. The gallery offers an exquisite selection of books, limited edition and vintage prints on old and new Hong Kong by respected master photographers and emerging contemporary artists.

Blue Lotus represents Fan Ho and his estate exclusively worldwide and is the sole agent worldwide of Wing Shya. The gallery has also been instrumental to debuting artist’s careers such as KC Kwan, Romain Jacquet-Lagrze, Tugo Cheng and Marcel Heijnen who the gallery represents exclusively for the area of Hong Kong. 

The gallery is located in a quaint and quiet historical pocket on 28 Pound Lane, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.

About Contemporary by Angela Li (G/F, 248 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong)

Contemporary by Angela Li is dedicated to the promotion of contemporary and avant-garde artists from China, Hong Kong and worldwide. Since its establishment in 2008, the gallery has gained considerable attention and has become one of Hong Kong's top galleries for contemporary art.
